What is that?

Someone you can count on

That’s a fact

We have friends

As we go through life

Help you through struggles

Hell and strife

.

Just to talk

On the phone

When feeling down

Isolated, alone

.

An email

Just out of the blue

Genuine interest

Friendship true

.

Even a stranger

That you’ve never met

Cares enough

To show that respect

.

No contact,

many years

Such kind words

Emotional tears

.

Advice to help

No one else cares

This person does

Problem shared

.

Distraught from rejection

Just words can help

A little bit of luck

Relief felt

.

If you want a true friend

You don’t have to plan

Think about others

And be the best friend you can.
