A new start

Hello all, how are you all doing?

Today is an interesting day. I have been woken up by our new kitten at 5 am for the third morning in a row. It is Monday. First day in my current job with a promotion. I am waiting to see what it entails and how the other members of staff will be with me.

I am now 38. Still English, living in france for 11 years. I am in my new job of 7 months as an outsider with experience and I am sure that the announcement today will put a few noses out of joint!

Has anybody else been in this position? I am however very eager to make the change and see what it brings. It feels so good after putting my career on pause for 11 years for the kids to learn a new language to do the accounts in another language and to learn a completely new position and to finally be noticed.

This girl can read you like a book

She casts her hook into your mouth

Hypnotized you can only fall south

This goddess’s song sucks you in

Begging for her as you see her grin

One taste of her lips is all you need

A normal man you suffer from greed

You will protect her, with your life

If she was harmed, you would be rife

Rage would overcome, you could kill

You’d do what it takes, enjoy the thrill

Worship her, your mistress, her glory

Fight you alpha, it’s your territory

All this, just because of one kiss

Without her, you would fall to the abyss

Is it skin deep?

When we look in

Ignore the sin

Is a perfect smile

All the while

Masking something

Hidden within

Why do we care?

To make it clear

That a beauty dear

Brings us to tears

Perfect skin, eyes hair

Posing with just a glare

But she has such flair

With no underwear

Slim is attractive?

We have the right to live?

Why judge?

We should all be loved?

Be bold and brave

Misbehave

Flaunt it all

Ignore them all

Whispering your wants

Gazing at the stars lighting up the sky

Pondering the distance between us

Seeming endlessness, moments lost

Silence painful and yet painless

Reminiscent of your voice

Your words caress my thoughts

Echoing with your twang

Our happiness trumped the world

An unbreakable bond

Shattered into a million pieces

Impossible to reassemble

Hands out stretching

Our reach unforgiving

Clasping at nothingness

You float away into eternity

My heart expired with yours

Memories dwindling but remain

Knowing that we’ll reunite

I’ll stare until I slumber

And dream of you by my side

Looking for escape

From this rigid place

Impossible to go

Let alone evade

There is no door

Nor has there ever been

To think for myself

Would just be obscene

Trapped by all decisions

Weighing ball and chain

Never have enough

It has always been my bane

The air is now choking

Oxygen becomes gas

As I seek an exit

This sad story alas

My one last ounce of control

To make my own choice

To be a courageous coward
