New work

Save your tears for someone who cares

Save your tears for someone who cares

This life we live, the wounds it bares

It slices our flesh to the state of no repair

Our social capacity as people stare

We are but an exhibit for others to watch

As they judge and point and laugh a lot

We are not what we should be in their eyes

Was it really such a surprise?

As we hurt ourselves, our heart and soul

Just fitting in, paying with our souls

Breathing the gasses of poisonous lies

From politicians with money in their eyes

They feed the rich and fuck the poor

Then hold their hands out and ask for more

And what do you get from all of this ?

Can’t even afford heating, something’s amiss

We work to live and to pay our debts

Until we’re old, finished and inept

To pay for our lives to make the world go round

Sorry, are you talking, I didn’t hear a sound

New work

Sure I won’t be missed

I hate money

It’s control over us

Can’t get enough of it

It causes such a fuss

.

Everything depends on it

Can’t get away

Always need more of it

At the end of every day

.

Debt comes to bite your ass

And it rips you a new hole

It tosses the windows out

Until the vacuum takes hold

.

There are always others

That are much worse off than me

But my biggest stress of all

It has its way with me

.

So much worry

So much stress

Sometimes wondering

What is this test

.

Cars always breaking down

Kids to pay for

Working for your job

Feeling like a whore

.

Now we have to live to work

To pay all the fucking bills

Eating all my insides out

Like a poisonous swill

.

What is next to save myself

To get away from this

Put a bullet through my skull

Sure I won’t be missed

1. Rhyming poetry to change your day

Money controlling you

Money, how it has control over us

It shapes our lives and causes fuss

Starting off with pocket money

Those little coins you find funny

In the shop what do you do?

Steal some sweets and run like a fool

Turn sixteen, mum asks you for rent

Get a job earning nothing, go on get bent!

Let’s move out, go get a flat

Overdraft sorted, in it, twat!

Credit card sorted, let’s go for it now

Two grand debt, well done kid, wow!

Oh I need a car, I need it today

Listen to no one, bought same day

Pound it at a hundred down the motorway

Pisses out petrol, firemen on way

Another debt, repairs to be done

Down the garage, oh what fun!

Debt piles up, more and more

Noting down what you spend, what a chore!

Try a bit of gambling, oh doing well

Roulette, poker, betting, lost, must not dwell

Ten grand now, more interest each payday

Can’t live like this, not this way

More and more depressed, don’t know what to do?

Hope for a miracle and hope it’s not you!

Waiting for payday

.

Waiting for payday to come

Fifth of the month

Some breathing space

To change the pace

Thirty days to last

Pity it goes so fast

It’s already gone

The account overdrawn

What will we do?

Go without food?

Stumble on

Ooh what fun

To do it again

Not know when

Things could change?

Wouldn’t that be strange

Come on be real

This banana peel

Used to it by now

My daily scowl

Stress itching me

Bizarre feeling really

Day in day out

Feel like I wanna shout

What good would it do?

I may feel better, true

Ahhhhhhhhhhh that’ll do

That’s my point of view
