Am I stubborn?

Stubborn am I

I dig my heels in

Like a rake to the eyes

I know my mind

I know what I want

I speak my truth

And it isn’t a front

My principles are there

I will not budge

Think what you like

I don’t give a fudge

My opinion matters

I won’t accept anything else

I am somewhat selfish

And I think of myself

Is it a pitfall?

My characteristic laid bare

It is the way I am

My stubbornness, beware

I feel I need a boost

If I wish to raise the roof

The next step is before me

I hold my own liberty

I am strong, courageous

Life is tough, laborious

I defy, nothing will stand in my way

Different and proud, there is always another way

Have faith, make your own fate

Believe in you, make mistakes

Learn, grow, flourish like a flower

This is for you, it’s your hour

Never has it mattered more to make your decision today

Life is yours to make it, you align the way

Positivity is your tool

Use it, break the walls

Scream, make noise, shout

That’s it, let it all out

Beat that negativity into the ground

Until you can’t hear it make a sound

Breathe that air, take it all in

Go for it, you can win!

In England

I had a good job

I was somebody

It meant a lot

I met someone

Things advanced

She fell pregnant

Wanted to return to France

We moved to France

Left my job

To have a baby

Gave up the lot

I regret not

The choice I made

To be a dad

Even if I was afraid

To be isolated

Conversation nul

Mute even

Life so dull

To start working

In fast food

Never thought possible

But I pushed through

Emasculated

Never felt as trapped

Not able to move

Started to look back

No, no, no

Same email always

With our regrets

Their negative way

I got a 4th interview

A large company

I sold myself

Take a chance on me

The next day at work

I see their lorry

Never noticed before

Will it be fate?

Will I be sorry?

I told myself

If it’s meant to be it will

Angie wished me Irish luck

And told me to chill

Finally some luck

Had shone on me

I’ve got the job

I’m so happy

8 months of applying

Depressing as it’s been

400 applications

Felt like a has been

I told my work

The news today

They were happy for me

In their own way

Goodbye to the fast food

The people that gave me my chance

Now to the new chapter

March the 12th I will dance!

Disect me like a butterfly

Read me like a book

Take my final sting like i am a bee

As i gasp with my final breath i took

Passionate as the week is long

To never quit until the task is done

To improve with every mistake I make

To collapse from when all is won

.

To inhale madness like it’s oxygen

Filling entirely my lungs

To bounce off the walls 

Just to exercise some fun

.

You think you know me now

From observing afar

Peel back my skin look inside

And reopen my scar!

Independence, we all want it

Not for some not one bit

What a mess that we are all in

Politics to decide who will win

At the end of the day it’s money that counts

Keep or kick is how the countries bounce

Brexit they want out and have to pay through the nose

That is politics and the way that it goes

Catalan want out, Spain reject all

Maybe without them the economy would fall

Then all falls to war, crazy civil mess

All in the name of independence no less!

To our face

We listen

We give them space

They control us

Tell us everything 

We want 

Thus

We follow

Like sheep

Ready for slaughter

Without even a peep

Didn’t mother say

Never trust a stranger and

Callous lies lead to

Sinking in quick sand

Do we trust them?

Do we follow them?

Have we got a choice?

Does it ever end?
