Have you ever took the time to watch
To observe everyone, never that much?
We are all in a trance we do not reflect
People’s actions all aimlessly direct
How did you get to work? Automatic?
I bet you hadn’t even thought about it?
Did you change gears use the brakes?
Check in your mirror look at a lake?
Caught up in the daily grind
So much just going on behind
Pay attention otherwise the days will pass by
You won’t even see them go you will only sigh
Tick tock goes the clock hear it in your ears?
Draining sands dwindling, eating at your fears
Expired, passed it’s best, rotting away
Forget tomorrow, think about today!
My new book “Rhyming poetry to change your day” is now available in paperback. Available for free until 4th January!

‘draining sands dwindling away’… we can wake up one morning and realize life had already happened… we really need to pause at times and as you wrote ‘think about today’ 🙂
