It was not cold this morn
Dew was on the grass
The breeze almost still
As if waiting for nature to whisper
To make my hairs stand up
Watching the horizon
As I have a million times
Awaiting its glow
Until finally
It peeps its head
Mesmerising yellow
I longed for your warmth
My naked skin breathing you
Your incredible brilliance
Fill my every nook
I am yours
To take me again and again
I will always wait for you

Maybe the next time
As I awoke in my pit of despair
Laid out on the floor as a carcas left to rot
The flies were probably seeking their next meal
I was probably an eternity after the expiration date
Clutching my head as if it mattered
The afternoon sun pulsing through the dreary nets
The burning rays on my brow
Self pity was on my lips from the night before
Somewhere between the cheapest vodka and the stains on my shirt
A stream of bottles littered the floor
If only it was a river with a breakneck current
I wish it would suck me in never to return to my hell
Why is there always a next time?
An afternoon awakening sunrise
Maybe the next time I lose myself in the bottle
I can disappear for good

I realised life is difficult
Without you around

My mind is up and down
Pulling myself out of bed
Think to have a wash
My brain is not working yet
It is just a mush
I’m making silly errors
Its affecting my job
Just to get to the end of the day
That requires a lot
I need to have our routine
To keep my mind on track

Then my rules, they will abide
Even though they claw at me
To open to them the door
It is me that will keep them captive

I am a useless gardener
I kill everything
Whatever you give me
Whatever you bring
I love flowers
Roses true
The only one I don’t kill
That is true
Reckless with roses
As much as you want
But they flower again
A beautiful plant
Oh how they smell
