It’s so sad
It’s so sad, another attack
It’s so sad, another flashback
It’s so sad, lives are lost again
It’s so sad, family and friends
It’s so sad, innocence stolen
It’s so sad, anger swollen
It’s so sad, hatred felt
It’s so sad, violence dealt
It’s so sad, why does it have to be like this?
Innocent people surely missed

Reconciliation
Live your life, live it full
One chance only to play the ball
It’s too short to hold a grudge
Getting you down, had enough?
Be the bigger person, don’t be small
Take courage my friend and stand tall
Family feuds we know they go on
It eats you up, you need to move on
Reconcile with them, pick up the phone
Do you want to die feeling alone?
If you could change one thing what would it be?
If it was me, build my bridges, set myself free
Your mother, your father you only get one
Stop blocking yourself on why it came undone
Surely sometimes you may have to swallow pride
It’s too late if something happens and that person dies
If you say it, what you want to say today
Get it off your chest, put it into play
Then you’ve accomplished something, an enormous step
You can be proud of yourself, now you can make the next

It started with a cough
He started his day
As he always would
He laced his shoes
And ran through the woods
He listened to music
And felt the breeze
Passing through
The towering trees
On returning home
He panted much
He couldn’t understand
Why it hurt so much?
He thought nothing of it
And shrugged it off
He ran a bath
And washed the sweat off
Kissing his wife
Then his two kids
Not to wake them
God forbid
Ready for work
He got in the car
He coughed hard
And saw stars
He arrived at work
Feeling weird
Dazed and tired
He started to fear
He collapsed on the floor
The others came
Call an ambulance
He is in pain
The ambulance arrived
In their gear
Spaceman suits
Ordering people clear
Took away
Everybody out
Cordoned off
People shout
To the hospital
This poor guy
Can hardly breathe
He can only lie
Put in a bed
Examined, scared
No one close
To love or care
Feeling weak
He can hardly move
Crying now
What can he do?
Put on oxygen
Case getting worse
Family told
They have been cursed
He slips away
To a final sleep
Forgetting family
As they weep

Saving the snake in the flames
A man saw a snake
Surrounded by flames
He tried to help it
Bitten and in pain
.
The man dropped the snake
Back into the fire
He looked around him
His courage to be admired
.
He found a metal bar
The snake wrapped around
He placed the bar down
Carefully to the ground
.
A passer by saw his act
Questioning why he helped
“The snake’s instinct is to bite”
“But I just had to help”

Today let’s have a blast

I like them moments of silence
Just being alone
Hearing just the clock ticking
In the comfort of my home

The fridge whirring
Nothing else
It’s a funny thing
Being by one’s self

It’s lonely
Exhilarating too
Daydreaming about the world
What we are about to do
.
No television
No radio
That would spoil it
Not the way to go
.
Just…. Peace
Tranquille as can be
In my little bubble
Free like a tree

What will happen
On this day so new
I am so excited
Opposite of feeling blue
