Poor boy

Youths in the street, jostling all together

They laugh, they joke, hoodies any weather.

Phones out watching videos they have made

A boy, the last victim whom they had preyed.

Their last attack, fatal, a poor young boy

A pack, circled, to see blood spilt oh joy.

Grounded surrounded, begging for some help

Calling for mum, he cannot help himself.

His eyes, such fear, knowing he’s gonna die

The last, final gasp, as life leaves his eyes.

Why does it eat us up?

What difference does it make?

If we want to change our luck

Do we suffer from greed?

Is it a bad thing?

Is it installed in us?

This constant need to win

.

We cannot stay still

Static in daily grind

Parallel continually

Like a boring line

.

DARE TO DEFY

Scream and shout

Turn it on its head

Show life what you’re about

.

You can be better

Selfish, hell yeah

Grab the bull by the nuts

Make that bugger scared

.

Positive, a winner

You are number one

You have all the power

This battle is won!

Kaleidoscope my way

Turning like a spin top

Colours so wonderful

Dizzying numbness

Tiptoeing like a dancer

Clothes stripped from me

See me in my glory

This is how to be

Kartwheels effortlessly

Weightless as I am

Majestically turning

I feel I need a boost

If I wish to raise the roof

The next step is before me

I hold my own liberty

I am strong, courageous

Life is tough, laborious

I defy, nothing will stand in my way

Different and proud, there is always another way

Have faith, make your own fate

Believe in you, make mistakes

Learn, grow, flourish like a flower

This is for you, it’s your hour

Never has it mattered more to make your decision today

Life is yours to make it, you align the way

Positivity is your tool

Use it, break the walls

Scream, make noise, shout

That’s it, let it all out

Beat that negativity into the ground

Until you can’t hear it make a sound

Breathe that air, take it all in

We cannot go back

I’m a great believer in karma

As you may already know

I believe what goes around comes around

That’s the way it goes

.

I’ve had some proper shitty weeks

It’s been all getting so much

Then my car broke down

Turned out to be the clutch

.

I had had enough

I cried like a child

My dog comforted me

It lasted a while

.

I been asking myself

Is it cause I don’t believe?

I try to be selfless

And the occasional good deed

.

First stress this week over now

My dog has gone to a good home

She has companions

And lots of space to roam

.

I’m still waiting a call for a job

Been a week in all

Every time my phone goes

I think it’s THE call

.

Still awaiting news for the car

Gonna cost a bomb

So much work to be done

Going on for so long

.

Tomorrow stressing me now

Judgement day

Will change all our lives

It is the only way

.

So I try to stay positive

Although lots of negative crap

Think about the future

Because we cannot go back

.

What would we do for them?

With their continuing innocence

Their regard always sweet 

Always have their confidence

.

Sometimes shy not for long

Until they’ve assessed it all

That inquisitive behavior constantly

More than us even though they’re small

.

Testing all the time 

To try and make us scream

A reaction is all they need

Your cracking at the seams

.

Jealousy is interesting 

how they react

Another child comes along

Parents love still intact

.

A little cuddle here and there

So soft like it’s a dove

Their insecurities shining through

Cause they need to feel loved

.

Our need to connect to the world

Want to be heard, to matter

Minuscule, making a difference

An itch to be scratched

Unique and wonderful

Marvelously complicated

Humanely simple

Change others lives

Selflessness to help

Someone in need

Notice our actions

Words are power

Lose yourself to find a path

Make errors to learn from them

Never look back
