New work

I’ll be back

I’m coming back home it’s been so long

I can’t remember all this time has gone

I missed the life, the swearing Brits

I missed the sarcasm, that special whit

I’ll be there soon, back in you

I’ll be gentle, can’t remember what to do

Did you miss me and my funny jokes?

They must be better now, I’m an old bloke

Going to eat so much, nice takeaways

Be unruly no work, just play

A bientรดt my sunny Southend

Fuck I’ve missed you, soon be back my friend!

      1. Sheesh, that’s too long. My ex wants to move back to NZ. I wish he could (work will probably keep him here) because he’s been here since 2012 and only just got to visit his mom Dec-Feb since we’re divorcing. It’s been horrible with the homesickness.

      2. When we’re back we miss it less. But when we’re away we really miss it. I wouldn’t move back. Finally back to a decent position in my career after putting it on hold for 12 years with the kids. It’s amazing what life can throw at us. We keep coming. Hope things work out as you wish.

      3. I always love leaving home, but I love the trip home the best. I prefer frequent travel. I get a bit crazy, stuck in a house. ๐Ÿ˜œ

  1. So glad you’re getting to come home to the UK for a while, Phil. When are you coming and how long for? Are you staying with friends or family over here? I love Southend, too, although many people slate it. I’m hoping to go there with my best friend as soon as the weather is nicer, perhaps, next month or so. Southend was where I had my last holiday on my own, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I’d love to go back and stay in a hotel, but I just can’t afford it anymore. Still, a day trip will be almost as good. You must be so excited as you’ve not been back here for over four years. I’m so happy for you ๐Ÿ˜Š.

    1. This Monday till Saturday, staying with family and seeing them. Happy to see them and see my kids interacting with them. Yes, I am a tourist in my own town too. It’s much better than just being someone there that hates seeing the tourists come. It’s a great place to visit too. I miss it. Looking forward to the arcades, the doughnuts and the pier train. I’ve waited long enough, fingers crossed

      1. I’m so pleased for you, Phil. It’ll be lovely to see your family again, I’m sure. Southend is the best place to go for arcades and doughnuts, I agree. Fish and chips on the seafront is good, too, although I don’t eat the fish now as I’m vegan. The chips are good, though. Have a wonderful time. Build a sandcastle for me! Have a safe journey, and I’ll look forward to perhaps, hearing more about it when you get back. Enjoy every minute ๐ŸŒž.
