To love someone you can’t have

To know they want you back

To have to practice patience

To keep your world on track

To battle the feeling

Of always being alone

To long to share the pillows

Wishing to have them home

Wondering what it would be like

To slowly caress their cheek

To see their first reaction

Without any need to speak

Forever gazing in their eyes

Fantasizing over their lips

Waiting for the time to cherish

That first beautiful kiss

  1. Beautiful my friend, beautiful. Have you read the Book of Solomon in the Old Testament? I think you would like it. It is about human longing and love, yet is also is about the longing for the Divine, and the Divine’s longing for us. It says in some of the most beautiful words, “Let me see your face”. What could be more profound than being seen completely, in a soulful way. That the Divine/God wants to sees the beauiful face of his bride is for me one of the strongest symbols for love, and the total embrace we long for. This embrace is not in full found in the relationship within another human being, even though it is a great pointer. Yet the greatest love, is the marriage in our innermost, a spiritual union that also radiates without. Peace, friend.
